The Black Maxi Dress| 3 ways

One of my favorite things to do is take one piece of clothing and find different ways to style it. I absolutely love a simple, black maxi dress. The one I am wearing is actually $5 right now at H&M! Score! It’s probably one of the most versatile pieces to style for the summer, and it can even go into fall when worn with a light sweater or blazer. Anyone can pull it off! Also let me add that every one of these pieces I bought on sale. Never pay full price for anything y’all!

3 ways to wear a black maxi

Here I have it with a skinny brown turquoise studded belt, wedge lace up sandals and a turquoise clutch. I have a MAJOR crush on these lace up wedges!  I would wear this look for a casual night out. Thrown on a coral button up sweater for chilly evenings.  I wish I had a short, gold dainty necklace to add but I couldn’t find one. One look at my jewelry drawer and you’ll know why!

For church, or even maybe a casual summer wedding or brunch, throw on a white blazer and metallic wedges. I just rolled up the sleeves for a 3/4″look. I added a cream animal print clutch. I am IN LOVE with this trend of mixing crisp white with off white or cream. The mint statement necklace adds a pop of color, and the metallic gold wedges pull the look maxi dress

Here I paired it with animal print sandals and a fedora for an effortless casual day out shopping or lunch with friends. The shoes are to die for. I am nuts over the gold studs overlay on top of animal print. Gianni Bini totally hit the mark with these lovelies. I am 5’3″, so I sometimes struggle wearing maxi dresses/skirts with flats because I fear it makes me look dumpy and frumpy. For me, it has to be the perfect look to pull it off. Fedora’s tend to lengthen any look and is the perfect finishing touch. I added a statement cuff to jazz it up a bit.

Maxis scare me around the waistline, but I’m often green with jealousy when I see them on people. They look oh so very comfortable. So am I just being crazy?!?!?! BTW – you look absolutely fabulous is EVERY one of those looks! 🙂
