#foryourweekend

It’s the weekend so sit back and relax and if  you can, enjoy it! Whatchya got planned? Might I give some suggestions?

How about some strawberries! Heck, make that chocolate covered strawberries. Didn’t get any for Valentine’s Day? Make them yourself! It’s easy. Just get some strawberries, get some chocolate chips, (I prefer milk chocolate) heat them up and then dip the berries in one by one. Easy peasy! So getchya some of those- a whole plate of ’em and sit and eat them one after the other while watching that favorite show you DVR’d or reading your fav book.

Speaking of books. I’m an avid reader. If you are too, I highly suggest “The House We Grew Up In” by Lisa Jewell. It’s a book about the Bird family and all of their little idiosyncracies. It’ll have you thinking about your own childhood wondering if what happened back then shaped you in to who you are today. I give it a thumbs up. Read it!

Last thing- call a friend. Don’t text. Call. A couple of years ago, I made it a point to call one person a week just to say hello and let them know that I’m thinking about them. So that I wouldn’t forget, I set a weekly reminder on my phone. Honestly It probably blessed me more than it blessed them. I don’t know what happened but after several months I stopped. I seriously need to start doing it again. Join me?

First off, I love your site, Shannon. Peace and beauty echo on its pages. Secondly, your story. Girl. Praise God for healing, praise God for love. There’s power in your testimony, although I’m sure you’re well aware. Lastly, setting a reminder on your phone? Genius! A daily to-do list awaits me. “Relationships” is listed there. It causes me to pause and intentionally decide who I’m going to reach out to. A “phone reminder” and “once a week”, will help. Wonderful idea. Thanks for sharing.

Shannon, this is my first time visiting your site. I must say, I love the simplicity! It’s beautiful. Also, I LOVE chocolate covered strawberries. I’ve been know to spend a crazy amount of money on them in the Godiva store. 😁 A local shop that sells them told me the secret to the making them… use Almondbark chocolate. Walmart sells it. You won’t regret buying it. 💗 I may have to take a trip to get some today! Have a great weekend!

Thank you! Yes! I’ve tried almond bark before too!! It’s equally as good. I don’t think you can go wrong with strawberries and chocolate of any kind!! Lol!
