This is the time of year when I hear all kinds of chatter about putting away the white and bringing out the boots. I’m all about The White….all year long. I’ve always been sort of a “fashion rebel.” Honestly I just don’t like someone telling me I can’t wear white after Labor Day. Who made up that silly rule anyway? If fashion icon Coco Chanel made white an all year staple then by all means we should too! I’m pretty sure the verdict is in!
White is crisp. It’s chic and so modern. I’ve seen those that are able to pull off the “all white look” and they look incredible. I wish white was as forgiving as black, but, it just isn’t. For some, it makes them look bigger instead of thinner. So, for me, rather than wearing white all at once, I typically like to add pieces here and there.
Since we love the white blazer so much let’s just talk about it some more, shall we? Here I have one shown with a pinstripe shirt and white skirt. Such a stylish choice from Banana Republic. To shake things up a little, why not put that white blazer over a dress? It totally adds pizzazz and a pop of color (white is a color ladies and gents) and is so completely unassuming. Try leaving it buttoned for a more polished look.
I hope you’ve been inspired to not be afraid of wearing white this fall/winter! Just do it ladies! Whether you choose winter white, cream, ivory or dare I say it crisp, cool, bleachy white (is bleachy white even a color?); any variation of white is just as great in the fall/winter as it is in summer! And what about mixing whites?? More on that on Wednesday so stay tuned!
