Why it’s Important to Take Thoughts Captive in Marriage

01

I’m the worst at thinking things that just aren’t true. As much as I know it isn’t right, it’s just something I’m not great at doing. I know I need to take my thoughts captive, and it’s something I have to continually work through.

take thoughts captiveMy husband is fairly easy to please. Actually, he’s super easy to please. He typically will eat anything I put in front of him and he never complains. I’m extremely blessed. We’ve been married for over 25 years. I put a lot of pressure on myself, as do most mothers and wives. So when my house isn’t clean enough to meet my standards, I tend to push those feelings off on my husband and lead myself to believe that he is the one putting pressure on me when in fact it’s me. My thoughts get the best of me. Taking them captive is something I’ve learned how to do, but there are still times when I fail.

I love today’s feature from Becky, who gives 3 reasons why it’s important to take those thoughts captive.

Thank you for featuring my post, Shannon – I am such a work in progress in this area. But in those times when I am successful at taking those thoughts captive, I can see a difference in the situation. Thank you for your encouragement!
